Suburban Home Gains Pizzaz & Triples Outdoor Living Space
This suburban home was “aesthetically quiet” with a light and dated color palette and not much impact or curb appeal. The owners were interested in updating the home and giving it some pizzaz. In addition, the backyard featured a very small deck that did not accommodate a variety of family activities, including hot tubbing, sunning, and al fresco, outdoor dining.
New fiber cement siding: Superior Products went to work, first to add function, durability, and curb appeal. The old yellow siding was replaced with fiber cement siding with a consistent sage green color for the whole house, complemented with white trim for contrast. Along with this, Superior Products added a new gutter system, fascia, and soffit.
New, expanded decking system: To accommodate the family’s love of the outdoors, Superior Products literally tripled the outdoor living space, with a new, second-story deck accessed from the master bedroom through new French doors, and a covered patio beneath it. An additional ground-level deck was added just off the kitchen for convenient outdoor dining with new French doors leading from the kitchen to the outdoor deck. The new decks were crafted from durable, splinter-free composite decking in a warm wood tones that beautifully complement the sage green siding.
The homeowners are ecstatic with the greatly increased curb appeal of the house. The family now has more outdoor living space for outdoor dining, star-gazing off the second-story deck off the master bedroom, and a sheltered patio to enjoy the outdoors rain or shine.
